Navigating Global Challenges: Insights from a Veteran Consultant

Greetings, fellow trailblazers! As the founder of G Group LLC Consulting, I’m thrilled to kick off our blog with insights, anecdotes, and practical wisdom from my 15+ years at the intersection of business and technology. Buckle up, because we’re diving into the heart of consulting innovation. In the coming weeks I will be introducing my partners and share their impressive experiences in solving client’s business, technology and development challenges.

1. From Big 4 to G Group: A Journey of Transformation

My journey began in a drydock managing changes for a US Navy nuclear powered aircraft carrier and matured in the hallowed halls of Big 4 consulting firms. I have accepted my client’s challenges from defining complex cross-functional requirements, performed yeoman’s duties with risk and issue management, and fine-tuned the delicate art of stakeholder wrangling. But something was missing—a spark of innovation that could ignite real change.

Enter my founding of G Group LLC Consulting. Building on my holistic professional services activities at Deloitte and enabled by the AI force multiplier I founded this consulting practice. We’re not just consultants; we’re architects of transformation informed by serving clien’ts across the globe. Our internal portal houses over 100 AI-enhanced solutions, guides, and templates - improving on the enterprise assets I used in the past. Collaboration? We’ve got Google Workspaces and Trello in our toolkit - and we adapt to your sharing needs.

2. Crisis Management in the Hindu Kush

Consulting is a people business. Picture this: Afghanistan, a land of rugged beauty and geopolitical complexity. As Deputy Component Lead for the Afghanistan Justice Sector Support Program, I led 130+ advisors across 34 provinces. Our mission? Justice case management system integration and improving the team’s daily operations - from Dubai. But fate had other plans—the Afghan government collapsed in 2021. Our early program termination in April 2022 tested our Afghan team’s mettle. Crisis management became our anthem as we strove to keep the local staff and families safe during evacuations.

3. The Art of Business Operations

At Tetra Tech DPK, I orchestrated administrative symphonies. IT asset inventories? Check. Transforming operations? Double-check. And when the curtain fell on Afghanistan, I leveraged my US Army leadership skills to bring some aid to our brave team enduring the crisis of their lives.

4. Lessons from the Census Battlefield

As a Senior Project Manager at Attain, I navigated the Census 2020 mobile application agile development environment and supported the enterprise Program Management Office and Portfolio Manager. Mobile case management apps? Done. We ensured address canvassing happened on time ensuring that everyone was counted.

5. Community, Collaboration, and the Deloitte Legacy

Deloitte acquired me from BearingPoint (KPMG) and provided the opportunity to broaden my professional services management opportunities. I founded the Deloitte Technology for Emerging Markets Community of Practice, a 250+ member team of volunteers interested in applying technology in international development. I pursued opportunities with the World Bank, USAID, MCC and Asia Development Bank. My $300K Myanmar Central Bank win? A testament to crafting created proposal responses to address unique client needs.

6. Beyond the Horizon

So, I am looking forward to partnering with you to help solve your immediate and future challenges and opportunities. We’re just getting started on this platform - we have dozens of experiences to share. In future posts, we’ll explore program management agility, decode the language of stakeholders, and maybe—just maybe—unleash a few AI secrets.

Until then, keep your compass steady, your coffee strong, and your innovation radar on high alert. Welcome to the G Group blog—a place where ideas collide, and transformation takes flight.
